The One Club recently announced their jury for the 2023 One Show. The jurors for this year consist of over 300 creatives from over 40 countries who will judge from around the world. Included on the list are Press Kitchen Clients Annick Mayer (EP for Butter Sound and Music) and Mateus de Paula Santos (CCO/Founder, and Partner of LOBO).  

The One Show is a highly accredited awards program that has been around for over 50 years. The awards are given out in 23 categories for industries such as advertising, design, and digital marketing. Categories for the awards cover many bases including Branded Entertainment, Creative Effectiveness, Product design, and many more. Each selected juror is assigned to one of the many categories, and entries are open to anyone. The finalists will be announced this upcoming April with an official awards gala in New York City this upcoming May. 

The event is sponsored by The One Club for Creativity, whose mission is to support and celebrate the success of the global creative community. The non-profit organization is built on four core strengths: education, inclusion & diversity, gender equality, and creative development. Membership based chapters are based in many locations around the United States. 

 

About Mateus de Paula Santos

Mateus is the Co-Founder, Creative Director and Partner of LOBO. His creative vision has cultivated the LOBO style and growth for over two decades, building a brand reputation for an enhanced bold style, innovative visual language and impeccable craftsmanship for advertising agencies, film studios, brands and beyond.

After gathering several awards at festivals like Cannes, Clio, the One Show and D&AD, Mateus and his partners expanded LOBO’s operation into live action territory, setting up a film production company capable of handling all aspects of movie making. Since then, Mateus’ work as a live action director proved to be as successful as in the animation front, including awarded spots for global clients like Coca-Cola, Adidas, Volkswagen and Siemens. He also served as a jury in all the main advertising festivals, including Cannes, D&AD and The One Show.

A graduate in Graphic Design from Fundação Armando Álvares Penteado, he began his career as on-air designer at MTV Brasil, before opening the LOBO with Nando in 1994. Five years later, his company was approached by Vetor Zero, who partnered with the studio to reach international motion graphics markets and more.  

Splitting his time between offices in São Paulo, Brazil and New York, NY, Mateus brings a global perspective that allows him to craft universal narratives that elicit emotion and entertain.

 

About Annick Mayer

​​Annick Mayer is the Executive Producer of BUTTER Music and Sound Los Angeles and has been an AMP West Coast board member since 2018. She boasts a diverse background in both music and advertising, approaching her role with a genuine enthusiasm for elevating each and every project through the emotive power of music. As an Executive leader running BUTTER LA’s office, Annick oversees business development, client relations, and creative management across all projects. In her tenure of almost a decade at BUTTER, she has played a pivotal role in the company’s growth, developing new divisions and fostering new talent.

She followed a love of music to study at Berklee College of Music, eventually making her way to New York City, where she graduated from The New School studying Music and New Media. She got her professional start at the music marketing firm Sneak Attack Media, working with rising artists of the time like now-household name Calvin Harris. She segued her music expertise into journalism, covering the beat as a freelance music writer and expanding that role to include directing and producing video/photo editorials as a Founding Editor of creative webzine Arcade44.tv.

In 2010, she shifted to the advertising world, working her way to an Associate Integrated Producer role at Saatchi & Saatchi NY. Her passion for music was reignited while collaborating with BUTTER EP Ian Jeffreys and CCO Andrew Sherman on a music showcase with then-BUTTER artist in residence, Kishi Bashi. She officially joined the BUTTER team in 2012, migrating west to be a part of the team opening the Los Angeles studio in 2014. When not producing award-winning tracks for ads, she is a lover of music, food, wine, dogs, and jokes.
