Lucid Motors has launched a campaign that pairs Hollywood star power with cinematic flair to showcase its upcoming electric SUV, the Lucid Gravity. The project, titled “Driven,” puts Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet in the driver’s seat of a high-octane story directed by filmmaker James Mangold. Known for “Ford v Ferrari,” Mangold reunited members of that stunt team to deliver an action-packed vision of the all-electric vehicle.

The short film, made by Lucid creative AOR Giant Spoon, follows Chalamet and model Larsen Thompson in a desert adventure that turns from a roadside mishap into a futuristic getaway. After their motorcycle breaks down, the duo stumble upon a hidden facility, seize the Gravity and tear across wide-open landscapes. The SUV’s mix of space, speed and range is framed not as automotive engineering alone, but as something almost otherworldly.

The spot will air during the NFL livestream between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers in São Paulo, Brazil, this Friday on YouTube and YouTube TV.

The film marks the beginning of a long-term relationship with with Chalamet, with the actor becoming the brand’s first global ambassador. He will appear in additional campaigns and branded content in the years ahead. This initial rollout comes in multiple cuts, including the two-minute director’s version.

The piece features stunt driving by professional racer Tanner Foust and a reimagined version of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ track “Burning.” The production blends big-screen craft with brand narrative, aiming to position the Lucid Gravity not just as another electric SUV, but as a symbol of performance and creativity at the intersection of technology and culture.
