\u201cWe saw three areas where the production process could work better<\/strong>: representation for directors, time-saving search for agency producers, and risk management for brands. For creatives, it\u2019s simple: they want great directors and a smooth production experience. That\u2019s what we deliver.\u201d<\/p>\n

For directors<\/strong>, Departure offers a home without exclusivity chains.
\nFor producers<\/strong>, it simplifies the time-consuming director search.
\nFor brands<\/strong>, it creates consistency across work, reducing risk and increasing efficiency.<\/p>\n

But Lashley and his team are quick to clarify that\u00a0speed doesn\u2019t sacrifice creative nuance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cBeing fast and having creative integrity aren\u2019t mutually exclusive<\/strong>. We\u2019ve built an internal system that keeps us organized and up to speed on every director in our pool. My partner Lucas Markman and I obsess over the work\u2014we can watch a live commercial break and match directors on the spot. It\u2019s like a game to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

With\u00a0over 200 directors and photographers<\/strong>, Departure thrives on scale\u2014not in spite of it.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur depth enables better curation<\/strong>. Unlike traditional rosters that stretch to fit every brief, we can be selective. We offer quality through quantity, not despite it.\u201d<\/p>\n

As sub-$500K productions become the norm, Departure\u2019s\u00a0flexible, transparent model<\/strong>\u00a0has proven especially fit.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe traditional roster model was built for a different era. Today, many \u2018exclusive\u2019 directors work with multiple partners anyway.\u00a0We\u2019re just honest about how we operate.<\/strong>\u00a0For budget-conscious projects, we focus on finding the right fit\u2014not the biggest name.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAgency producers are intrigued, then impressed<\/strong>. Our shortlist rate is high, and even when we\u2019re not picked, our reels usually reach the creative team.
