In a spot featuring commentary from Deadpool (played by Ryan Reynolds), scenes from the movie are edited to include cameos of Heinz Ketchup and Mustard bottles.<\/p>\n<p>Deadpool bemoans the comparisons\u00a0while speaking in\u00a0his classic, fourth wall-breaking style. The spot will run across online video and Marvel and Heinz social channels.<\/p>\n<p>The global campaign also includes digital and print out-of-home posters across North America, in which the comparison is made. Creative will also feature in-store displays of Deadpool\u00a0and\u00a0Wolverine alongside Heinz ketchup and mustard.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-prod.adage.com\/s3fs-public\/20240725_Heinz%20x%20Deadpool%20OOH_FULL.jpg\" alt=\"Heinz_Deadpool&amp;Wolverine_OOH\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-prod.adage.com\/s3fs-public\/20240725_Heinz%20Deadpool%20OOH%20LA_FULL%20.jpg\" alt=\"Heinz_Deadpool&amp;Wolverine_OOH\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3-prod.adage.com\/s3fs-public\/20240725_Heinz%20x%20Deadpool%20Wolverine%20LTO%20Bottles_FULL.png\" alt=\"Heinz_Deadpool&amp;Wolverine_bottles\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The campaign additionally includes activations in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, China, Australia and Brazil, among other locations.\u00a0The movie is set to hit\u00a0theaters July 26. Heinz will also release limited-edition collectibles to dress up their ketchup and mustard bottles as part of the campaign.<\/p>\n<p>Reynolds said that fans of the Marvel universe pointed out the characters\u2019 similarities to ketchup and mustard bottles.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen my assistant faxed me a photocopy of a memo (he spelled it \u2018meme\u2019\u2014ugh, assistants amirite?) wherein Deadpool and Wolverine were identified as a Heinz Ketchup and Mustard bottle, respectively, I thought nothing of it and went back to my book and tea,\u201d Reynolds said. \u201cBut the faxes kept on coming! So, the idea was hatched to actually partner with Heinz to bring this memo to life.
