Petco finds an entertaining way around this in new ads from Slap Global, in which it acknowledges it will never fully understand animals\u2014but is second to none in caring for them anyway.<\/p>\n<p class=\"inline-ad-para\">Three TV spots and related social posts focus on our furry friends\u2019 strange behaviors, which will be relatable to any pet owners watching. \u201cSome things we don\u2019t know,\u201d the voiceover admits. \u201cEverything else, we do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/377748811\/Ti2hZh2xB_default\/index.html?videoId=6354801710112\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/players.brightcove.net\/377748811\/Ti2hZh2xB_default\/index.html?videoId=6354802796112\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Dan Opsal at Hungry Man directed the spots.<\/p>\n<p>Inspiration for the \u201cMidnight Snack\u201d spot came from Slap co-founder Gerry Graf\u2019s own experience with his cat Leo, who was \u201chiding behind yogurt-covered pretzels one night and scared the shit out of him,\u201d the agency said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe campaign was a blast to make because it often consisted of us sharing our crazy pet stories and then presenting them as concepts,\u201d said Lyndsey Corona, Slap\u2019s president. \u201cTruth is, everyone with a pet knows they have weird, unexplainable behavior sometimes, and that\u2019s what makes this work so relatable.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Graf\u2019s dog Sadie\u2019s habit of staring at a wall for 30 minutes at a time for no reason did not make the cut for the campaign (though it probably would have made a decent longform spot). Corona\u2019s aunt\u2019s crazy bird\u2014who likes to play with keys\u2014will appear in a forthcoming spot.<\/p>\n<p>Slap began working with Petco this year. The campaign launches this week across TV, OLV and social.
