Press Kitchen clients <\/span>The-Artery<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>Washington Square Films<\/span><\/a> head to Sundance 2024 to celebrate the screening of films they worked on. The-Artery prepped, supervised, and completed VFX for three films, one in each screening category of Dramatic Competition, Midnight, and Premieres.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Real Pain<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Writer\/Director\/Actor Jesse Eisenberg \u2013 in his directorial debut \u2013 and Kieran Culkin deliver \u201cdevastating, funny\u201d performances as mismatched cousins who <\/span>reunite for a tour through Poland to honor their beloved grandmother. The adventure takes a turn when the pair\u2019s old tensions resurface against the backdrop of their family history, visually highlighted by <\/span>Micha\u0142 Dymek\u2019s eloquent cinematography and a Chopin-driven score. The-Artery\u2019s visual effects work on the feature included prepping, supervising and completing VFX, greatly adding to the striking visual impact of the film.<\/span><\/p>\n

Known for his Academy Award-nominated role as Mark Zuckerberg in <\/span>The Social Network<\/span><\/i>, Eisenberg has also starred in Sundance films ‘<\/span>The Squid’ and ‘The Whale’<\/span>, ‘<\/span>Adventureland’<\/span> and ‘<\/span>Zombieland’<\/span>, among others, plus won accolades for his turn as Lex Luthor in the 2016 film Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I Saw the TV Glow<\/span><\/i><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Produced by Oscar-winner Emma Stone (<\/span>La La Land<\/span>, <\/span>The Favorite<\/span>, <\/span>Birdland<\/span>), ‘<\/span>I Saw the TV Glow’<\/span> is from writer\/director <\/span>Jane Schoenbrun<\/span> and was selected for Sundance\u2019s celebrated Midnight screenings. In the film, teenager Owen is just trying to make it through life in the suburbs when his classmate introduces him to a mysterious late-night TV show \u2014 a vision of a supernatural world beneath their own. In the pale glow of the television, Owen\u2019s view of reality begins to crack. <\/span>The-Artery contributed visual effects including prepping, supervising and completing the effects which bolstered the film\u2019s otherworldly visuals.<\/span><\/p>\n

Selected for Sundance\u2019s blockbuster-heavy Premieres section, <\/span>Presence<\/span><\/i> was directed by Oscar-winning director Steven Soderbergh (<\/span>Traffic<\/span>, <\/span>Erin Brockovich<\/span>, <\/span>Sex Lies and Videotape<\/span>) and includes visual effects contributed by The-Artery. <\/span>Shot entirely in one location, the film \u201cwill haunt audiences with its otherworldly story and constantly awe-inspiring visuals,\u201d centering on <\/span>a family that moves into a suburban house and becomes convinced they\u2019re not alone. <\/span>The-Artery was honored to provide portions of the VFX in this film, billed as a thrilling cinematic experience and featuring a compelling cast of both known actors and newcomers<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Between The Temples<\/span><\/i><\/a><\/p>\n

Executive produced by Washington Square Films\u2019 founder Joshua Blum, produced by Adam Kersh and written and directed by Sundance favorite Nathan Silver,<\/span> Between the Temples<\/span><\/i> is an offbeat comedy that was chosen for the prestigious Sundance Dramatic Competition. In it, a cantor played by Jason Schwartzman has a crisis of faith when his grade school music teacher re-enters his life as an adult bat mitzvah student. Cast members including Oscar-nominee Carol Kane (<\/span>Hester Street<\/span><\/i>) and Dolly de Leon (<\/span>Verdict<\/span>, <\/span>Triangle of Sadness<\/span>) add to the humor and comedy writing legend Robert Smigel is credited for the script.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Look Into My Eyes<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n

While not produced by Washington Square Films, <\/span>Look Into My Eyes<\/span><\/i> was produced by Emmy-nominated roster commercial director Lana Wilson (<\/em><\/span>Pretty Baby: Brooke Shields<\/span>, <\/span>The Departure<\/span><\/em>)<\/em> and was chosen to screen in Sundance\u2019s new \u2018premiere free binge series\u2019 section available for free viewing on AMC+. The gripping True Crime series delves into the story of Dr. George Kenney, former principal of North Port High School in Florida, who hypnotized students. After three of his students died in 2011, the series unpacks what happened and explores how culpable Dr. K may be.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
