Andie MacDowell is Jane\u2019s beleaguered mom. It\u2019s produced by Fred Bernstein, Dominique Telson, Lauren Pratt, Mintz and Simone Williams.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>January\u00a0(Janvaris)\u00a0by Viesturs Kairiss, from Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, about an aspiring filmmaker searching for identity against the backdrop of Latvian independence, was named Best International Narrative Feature.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Best Documentary Feature and Editing awards went Laura Checkoway\u2019s\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_the-cave-of-adullam_1\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/the-cave-of-adullam\/\" data-tag=\"the-cave-of-adullam\">The Cave of Adullam<\/a>. The Laurence Fishburne-produced doc follows martial arts sensei Jason Wilson tenderly guiding his often-troubled young Detroit students with a beautifully effective blend of compassion and tough love. See Deadline interview with Fishburne and Wilson\u00a0here.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Also in the Narrative Feature Category,\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_allswell_1\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/allswell\/\" data-tag=\"allswell\">Allswell<\/a>\u00a0by Ben Snyder, about three Nuyorican sisters navigating life challenges, took the Best Screenplay award. Best Cinematography went to\u00a0Next Exit\u00a0by Mali Elfman. Liz Carbel won a Special Jury Mention for Best Performance for Daniel Antebi\u2019s\u00a0Sierra in God\u2019s Time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a id=\"auto-tag_katrina-babies_1\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/katrina-babies\/\" data-tag=\"katrina-babies\">Katrina Babies<\/a>\u00a0received the Human\/Nature Prize, a new award this year for environmentally conscious films.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Michelle Garza Cervera took the 10th annual Nora Ephron Award for\u00a0<a id=\"auto-tag_huesera_1\" href=\"https:\/\/deadline.com\/tag\/huesera\/\" data-tag=\"huesera\">Huesera<\/a>\u00a0from Mexico. She also won for Best New Narrative Director.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Awards were presented at Tribeca eatery Thalassa for Short Film, Audio Storytelling, Immersive, Games, Human\/Nature and Tribeca X (branded storytelling). The ceremony awarded $165,000 in cash prizes. The festival, which hosts over 600 events across NYC, concludes Sunday. A special Virtual Award Winner Screenings series will be available for U.S. audiences this weekend via Tribeca At Home.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cToday\u2019s honorees are a testament to the vitality of cinematic storytelling, representing the most exciting achievements across countries, genres, and platforms,\u201d said Cara Cusumano, the festival director and VP of programming. \u201cWe are proud to recognize such a diverse and innovative group of works and creators with today\u2019s well-deserved award winners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in the week, Tribeca and sponsor AT&amp;T announced\u00a0Smoking Tigers\u00a0as the winner of annual pitch contest\u00a0<span class=\"mark5n4qkljqx\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">AT&amp;T<\/span>\u00a0Presents:\u00a0<span class=\"mark8ju1m0g5q\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Untold<\/span>\u00a0<span class=\"marktn42zg83o\" data-markjs=\"true\" data-ogac=\"\" data-ogab=\"\" data-ogsc=\"\" data-ogsb=\"\">Stories<\/span>.
