The Fire Becomes Me EP is slated to release April 1, 2022 out of The Better Company. Both films were produced by Valiant Pictures.<\/p>\n<p>Following the solemn finale of &#8216;Try&#8217;, a music video exploring the battle with one\u2019s inner thoughts and the self, &#8216;Fire Becomes Me&#8217; begins outdoors and with a second awakening. The film, directed by Enmi Yang and DPed by Peter Pascucci, evokes the discovery of power in solitude, where NAKAYA pursues a mysterious red light across fog and water until she finds fire. She unites with the flames, her power and resurrection, in keeping with the echoing chorus \u201cI\u2019m finding fire becomes me now\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>NAKAYA is an alternative artist based in Los Angeles, blending electronic, R&amp;B, and folk textures to create a unique and ethereal sound. Her truthful and poignant lyrics speak to her experiences traversing multiple marginalized identities and she works to provide a voice for those who lack representation in the alternative music sphere. She released her debut EP Out of Breath in 2015, which&#8211;as well as her follow up singles \u201cLose It Too,\u201d \u201cJump,\u201d \u201cBallet Shoes\/Goodbye,\u201d and more&#8211;have been featured on major publications such as NOWNESS, FADER, V Magazine, Billboard, NYLON, Pigeons and<br \/>\nPlanes, Highsnobiety, Idolator, Afropunk, and Wonderland Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Enmi Yang is a first-generation visual artist + producer from Jeju, South Korea. Her practice explores the intertwining connection between isolation and abandonment with the healing and regenerative qualities of the natural world. Her creative motivations are largely influenced by nature and its organic voice: movement within stillness, positive and negative spaces, and nature\u2019s relationship to the human body. She has always felt a magnetic connection between her own femininity and artistic concepts and the textures, softness, and colorways reflected in nature. She feels cradled creatively and spiritually when she maintains a close relationship with the organic and emotional strength of all-natural things, both outside of herself and within her own expression as an artist and as a woman. As a producer, her short film \u201cEMME\u201d was selected winner at Genre Celebration Festival 2019 Tokyo. She is the founder\/EIC for Phase Journal and her photo work has been featured on Surface, PaperCity, NR, Teeth and Polyester.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Pascucci is a queer NY-based Director of Photography represented by Innovative Artists. His unique approach to storytelling has gained recognition in the branded space by focusing on socially conscious and unexpected narratives. His attention to sensitive subject matter has yielded an award-winning balance of marketing and entertainment that delivers a memorable and thought-provoking reaction from viewers, as evidenced by awards from the Tribeca Film Festival and the Clio Awards. Peter\u2019s documentary and interview work has taken him across the country, profiling marginalized groups and crafting emotionally riveting stories from real people\u2019s lives.
