PSAs from BBDO New York and She Should Run will target women active in their communities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

In the wake of Kamala Harris’ inauguration as Vice President, a\u00a0new series of PSAs is encouraging\u00a0 women, particularly those who are active in their communities, to run for office.<\/p>\n

The campaign, dubbed “Change is Her(e),” was created by BBDO New York for She Should Run, a non-partisan nonprofit that aims to provide\u00a0an approachable starting place and network for women leaders considering a future run for office.\u00a0It includes a series of films, directed by Molly Schiot\u00a0of Honor Society, featuring real-life activists who have all made a difference in their communities.<\/p>\n

Targeting\u00a0women of all races and socio-economic statuses, the effort aims to improve the diversity of candidates; according to SheShouldRun,\u00a0a large part of the reason that more women currently don’t run is because they don’t believe themselves qualified.\u00a0 As well as the PSAs the campaign\u00a0will also include\u00a0a social media effort involving\u00a0influencers\u00a0to get people to nominate the female change-makers around them.<\/p>\n

“With this new campaign, we want to inspire more women to consider running for public office by highlighting the many things they have already done to change other people’s lives,\u201d said \u200bErin Loos Cutraro, CEO and Founder of SheShouldRun, in a statement.\u200b \u201cWe believe that these women\u2014 who care deeply about people and society\u2014 have what it takes to hold office. If they care enough to change someone\u2019s life, they could be one run away from changing many others.\u201d<\/p>\n
