
Alkemy X VFX Supervisor Bilali Mack has earned the coveted “Thrivers 30 Under 30” designation on Cablefax’s annual “The Diversity List”, alongside representatives from CNN, WarnerMedia and National Geographic. Bilali recently joined Alkemy X to serve as VFX Supervisor on the upcoming STARZ “Power Book III: Raising Kanan,” where he will utilize his expertise at the intersection of technology and artistry to amplify the storytelling with heightened visuals.
Bilali joined Alkemy X from MPC, where he supervised and executed VFX on spots for top brands including Adidas, Sonos, Google and BMW.
Born in Accra, Ghana and raised in Connecticut, Mack graduated with a B.F.A. in animation and media from Emerson College and has rapidly established himself as a talent to watch in the visual effects and animation space. He has honed his approach as an artist with stints at Brickyard VFX, Smoke & Mirrors and MPC, working with top directors including Saam Farahmand, Dave Myers, The Russo Brothers and Lance Acord. He currently furthers his education at the forefront of animation technology through his continued involvement with SIGGRAPH.
In 2020, he launched the podcast “Legends of VFX,” recently collaborating with Autodesk on both the podcast and a panel for the Autodesk Vision Series. He additionally raised $26,000 on Kickstarter for his documentary “Born Ben,” a film spotlighting a man with cerebral palsy’s endeavor to become the first college basketball coach with a disability. The film is currently in post production.
